Like many others, we view the warfare going on in the mid East is a very sad statement of
how difficult and complex it is for peoples of different faiths and beliefs to live together.
Stupid thing is, we never seem to learn from history that power comes and goes and that
a world without the variety of ethnic backgrounds and cultures would be a extremely boring
life.
Almost everyone I've talked to has been very black or white about what's happening. Either
for or against Israel.
I find CNN quite biased in their reporting. I guess my lack of understanding of the history
and politics of this situation makes me see in "Grey" rather than black and white. I think
both sides have arguments, both sides have fanatics, both sides hear the propoganda put
out by their side, both see realities that we don't get to see or understand.
Last night I heard about a Woman Journalist whose family was in Gaza. She has a blog, I
went to it. It's "a mother in gaza.blogspot.com" It was very interesting and the blog responses
she received represented just about all beliefs about what's happening.
Wish I had paid more attention to the history of the Middle East. Can't imagine the conditions
that the Palestinians are living in, the same for all the Israeli civilians who are afraid to leave
their homes.
Going to take some real leadership and compromise, sad state of affairs.
